Photo Update
Kai asked me to post these photos that were taken of Caleb yesterday (July19th).
"our beautiful boy giving the thumbs up. (shortly after he threw up the rage sign and had a mock fist fight with a nurse he wasn't getting along with)"
Caleb you look awesome! I cannot believe how quickly you are recovering! you are amazing! Thanks so much for the pictures because it is such a relief to see you looking so good. I thought you were one seriously strong man before and now I am totally in awe. Keep up the hard work beautiful. You are so missed and SO loved its friggin ridiculous. Katie
He looks amazingly good for all he has been through. It is only 16 days since the accident and he has been through two big surgeries. He is doing very well indeed. Keep up the good work Mum and thanks for sharing the pictures I am sure it will help those who haven't seen him yet feel reassured. They will also be good for him to look back on when he is further along in his recovery. He is going to get a lot better soon but he still may get frustrated with his progress. These early photos will help him remember his starting point and how far he has come. Suzanne
Caleb - You dont know me, but I recognize you from around town. Iam so happy to know you are doing better and EVEN HAPPIER to actually "see" the progress you are making!! Keep upi the good work,, everyone is waiting for you to come home.
I got goosebumps looking at these pictures - I am so happy to see real photographic proof that Caleb is recovering! I barely know him besides a couple hellos here and there, but have been rooting for him and donating to the cause with both money and prayers.
Sharyn, if you are relaying comments from this blog to Caleb, please let him know that we are all in it for the long haul with him. He's got a lot of "new" friends out there who can't wait to meet him in person. There are easier ways to become a superstar, but since he was forced into this route to stardom, he might as well try and enjoy it! From what I've seen in these comments, his fan club extends around the country (maybe world!).
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about Caleb, Sharyn, Jan, Kai and Max. I try to put myself in those shoes and it is very hard to imagine, but to know that there is such a supportive community back at home must help so much. It is great to see the progress he is making. Thank you for your updates and your sense of humor during this, again I cannot imagine!! From reading all of this I can see why you have so many people pulling for you!! Can't make the prayer on Tues eve but I will be sending positive thoughts your way! Fleetians are GREAT!!!!! Karen Nordahl

A BIG Thank You
In this season of giving thanks and celebrating family togetherness, I wish to extend a warm thank you to everyone who has been involved in a myriad of ways with my son, Caleb Potter, and his recovery. On July 4, he was involved in a skateboarding accident in our little hometown of Wellfleet on Cape Cod, that caused him serious injuries. He came home from Spaulding Rehab in Boston just before Thanksgiving. Through the blog we started: http://calebpotter.blogspot.com/ the Wellfleet community of support stretched far and wide across the country, and in fact, throughout parts of the world, with many people offering prayers and words of wisdom. We could not have come so far without this legion of support from all of you, in Wellfleet and beyond. We are sincerely grateful.
