the paddle out was glorious. hundreds of people @ lecounts hollow. so much energy, hope & healing. it was a highlight of my life. all ages of calebs friends and family coming together on the water for him. it was the christening of my "new" board in the wellfleet atlantic...now all i have to do is learn to surf!
128 people in a powerful circle.
for a time jan, max, shae & kai were in the center holding the focus for caleb.
at least 100 handfulls of flowers & petals were scattered upon the water.
last night @ the prayer circle was sharyn's first time. although it poured rain before & after, the sky was dry while we gathered @ town hall. sharyn fed us her dependable laughter medicine.
after we convened... lisa b, kate clancy, caleb portnoy & i joined cedar who had been tending a fire for all to gather in caleb's honor. apparently everyone was counting on rain so they went to the bomb shelter. we on the other hand had a perfect july evening on the beach. no wind, rain or bugs. upon the southern cliff was a towering flag pole flying a pirate flag, lit up with a spot light.
the water horizon line just below cradled lights of a boat, treasure hunters we were told, searching for more loot from the "wydah".
in the fire were 2 big metal stakes scalding to a red hot glow after being burned out of the wood they once held together...maybe from a pirate ship long ago???
the stakes found their way -via cedar & ennie no doubt- to the heart of the altar @ town hall by the time of the morning prayer circle.
sharyn invited everyone to her house for a cookout @ 5 for max's 21st birthday...HAPPY BIRHTDAY MAX!!!
just being @ their house is a healing experience. it is simple enough to hold the beauty of sharyn's gardens in my heart & mind & send that energy to caleb...how could he not heal with such love & beauty, multiplied hundreds if not thousands of times.
2night sharyn gave great news that not only did caleb shit! but he is also off the respirator, breathing on his own & his eyes are fluttering!!!
onward & unpward my friend...you are loved by many many people.
thank you for all you have given to this amazing town caleb, most of all the miracle of our faith in your healing.
faithfully, i am at your service...
love you kid, deirdre
