Mumsie's Fridaty report

Thank you all for a wild, wonderful night of celebration at Mayo beach! I so adore that all of you took the time to be with Caleb in spirit and to dance and sing and celebrate life! It is important to me that each of you take the time to appreciate everything that you have today -to be grateful for abundance! Caleb is now on medication to spark the brain and it seems to be working - after removal of his wires in the jaw he was able to form some words and said "hi mum" very clearly! He is more alert and lively and is now drawing on a pad of paper in his room with his dad by his side. As many of you know, my relationship with Jan has been difficult at best and now Caleb has unified us - just one more powerful miracle he has pulled off! Caleb can dress himself,is following commands and can let us know if he is happy or uncomfortable...from a mothers stand point - this is major for my peace of mind. So many positive stories and situations have transpired since Calebs accident and I know we have all been touched and changed by this. Thank you for being respectful of our privacy and healing time.. Caleb loves you all as you know but he needs to work and rest hard! He is wiped out when he finishes therapy - and therapy is my main focus right now-- that is what will get him home sooner. I am trying to tone this report down a bit as one of my dear friends did remind me that www means world wide web -woops- I just thought a few of my friends were following this - well apparently not! Hi to all of you out there. I am mumsie and I'm glad your aboard for the sail on the sometimes rough seas of Calebs world - but I promise you - the ride is worth it!

Sharyn, I believe the people reading this are caring compassionate people. No worries on the www factor. We all care for you and your family and are just amazed at the love and support coming from Wellfleet and throughout the world. Times get tough, people get down on the world, the politics, and the so called leaders of the nation, but it just takes one pirate from a small town on Cape Cod to bring us all back together and realize how wonderful human beings really are.

Wellfleet's reaction to all this is so very moving! I wandered by the prayer circle today at 11 and Lisa B. was there with a young man I did not know. He was exclaiming about how intense and wonderful the evening benefit at Mayo Beach had been. Margo KR came with flowers. I read this blog every day. In early July, I mentioned the accident and prayer circle in my own blog about life in Wellfleet. Since then my blog has been getting 200 hits a day as people all over the country and world search for news of Caleb's recovery. Thank you for sharing, Sharyn. Hang in there. We are all routing for your son!

The thought of your daily blog being toned down seems ridiculous.
Your info and flavor keeps the spirit alive . . . my opinion anyway. Anybody else?

Sharyn-
Skip the censorship- Your true to life comments make this site so real. It's like you're standing next to us giving us the latest Caleb news. I personally wouldn't want it any other way.

Caleb, Sharyn, Jan, Max, Kai and everyone in Wellfleet!

I guess it takes a while for news to travel to New York. I just heard word last night from Alex about what happened. We both wanted to send our love. Our thoughts are with you.

It has been a few years since I have made it up to Wellfleet and these pictures really brought me back. This blog is a great way to update those of us who cannot be on the cape right now. The messages, stories and community support are truly amazing. I miss you all so much!

All of us that know Caleb know that he has a strong soul and spirit. I am sure that each day more and more of that strength will show itself. The outpour of love and support are inspirational and no doubt are helping the healing process. It makes me remember how and why I truly love Wellfleet.

If for any reason you may need a place to stay in New York please know my doors are always open to you. I will try to get up there soon.

Caleb keep up the good work. You are in my heart and I will be sending out thoughts of love and healing to you daily!

If you need anything feel free to e-mail me at kimalysonharris@aol.com
Love,

Kim Harris

Tone down the reports? Talk like that could land you in trouble with a pirate! (If you weren't his mum!)

We all have gotten to know you. Be you. We love YOU!

Mumsie,
Many of us who have visited wellfleet this summer, especially around the 4th, came away interested (in a good way) about Caleb, wanting to keep up on Caleb's progress and continuing to send him and you all good thoughts and prayers of healing.

We don't mean to intrude on your privacy (as such it is on the web )but check in every day to see how he is doing. Please don't tone it down.

Sharyn..

First let me say I am SO happy you got to hear that "Hi Mum" & that he is continuing to progress each new day.

While I understand your concern about having some type of a filter on the web..I really think it is important to remember you are a pirates mother who in his own personality is hilariously vulgar..let's not forget that he is totally compassionate, sweet, and not down right rude, but that is why SO many people love you and your boys..we all can escape the harsh realities of the world when we see you, it's like we slip into some vortex of laughter, tweekedness. You literally crack me up, and I bet once Caleb reads all these he will be that much more smiley, and proud of all of us dorks! Look at how many out-of towners sign in each day to laugh with us, cry with us, and learn through this experience!! Caleb is famous!! & even MORE loved now..it is insane!
Love ya Mumsie!! XO Clance..

My thoughts arrrrr always with you and he...Let him know my leather skills are ready and waiting for a custom pirate patch for that Pie-Rat to wear. I love you all...Saw Jan today at Kia Ora and saw such relief in his eyes from the last time I saw him. made me all warm and fuzzy inside! Together
Under a Black Flag
We Shall Sail
From Here to There
And Back Again
I'll Lead You Through
We Shall Survive This Gale
With Light of Heart
And Swords Held High
We'll Stand
And Strong Shall Be The Hand
That Holds Us True
On This Course of Blue
Which Leads Us To Rich Lands
Where We Once Stood
And Again Shall We
Under a Black Flag
Set to Sail Free
From Here to There
And Back Again
I'll Lead You Through
You'll See...
