Rated Arrrrr

Dennis McCoy wanted to let all of you know that a few prints of this photo (you may remember it from the silent auction at Caleb's Wicked Jag) will be available at the South Wellfleet General Store.
The prints will be unframed 8x12 (or thereabouts) format.
A suggested minimum donation of $20 should be put in the Caleb donation container on the counter...honor system.

One day a hundred years ago in the 80s I was faced with a Potter priority....Caleb was crawling around near the big hole in the floor where the fireplace was going to go.... and his little tiny brother was in the tub taking a bath...Dad stepped out for a minute to get a tool and I was alone with the two of them....Oh my gosh what a responsiblity.
What to do? As caleb headed straight for the hole something told me he was smart enough not to leap into the abyss....so I checked in on Kye and he was under water turning a light shade of purple!
I screemed Jan! Jan!
Who was right there in an instant and plucked Kye from the water and gave him a little slap the get the juices flowing again.
Caleb just looked at me with a pirates smile and
and I knew everything was alright.
Love and prayers from Montana.

I first heard of Caleb's accident while on a vacation with my parents in July. We stayed at a campground in Wellfleet, very near the drive-in theater. As we drove around Cape Cod, traveling to Provincetown for a whale watching trip, I kept seeing signs that stated "Pray for Caleb." A bunch of stores we stopped into had collection containers proclaiming that a man named Caleb Potter needed our help and positive thoughts. Three days into our trip I finally got curious enough about who this Caleb Potter fellow was and Googled the name, along with the words "Cape Cod." I learned of Caleb's fight for survival but, frankly, thought little of it. It was a few days ago, while sitting on a beach, that thoughts of the man they called Yellowbeard returned to my brain. I once again used Google and found this blog. I have since read every post, from the beginning, and feel as though Caleb is a person that I would admire greatly if I ever had the privilege of meeting him. I live in Rhode Island, but my support for Caleb, his friends, and family, will travel that distance. I sincerely hope that Caleb pulls through. My thoughts are with you, along with wishes that the man they call Yellowbeard will return safely home to the spectacular town of Wellfleet.

This warms my heart.
I've asked my mom to pick up a print for me. I'll keep it here on the West Coast as a reminder of Caleb, the Potters, the town of Wellfleet, and the happiness all so richly deserve.

Hello... saw an article on Surfline and just wanted to send prayers and Love to you and your family. I hope you are better soon, and able to get back to life and to your family. Your Mum is one very special person, and as they say, the apple does not fall far from the tree-- you must be one heck of an apple.

I saw this at the oyster jag and bid on it a few times but lost it in the end. I felt fine about "letting go " and here it comes back to me. Caleb and family I'm praying for you all, sending love and light.. ann

ann-

Glad you liked it enough to bid on it. The General Store has small-8x10 versions of this photo. The suggested donation for those is $20 which should be put right in the donation jar. Should you want a larger image (e.g., the size at the jag-11x14 and I can make larger ones, too)-either B&W or color, I am happy to provide you with such, but without a frame as I am all out. But it does look great framed and you can get one on your own. My only request is that for a larger image we raise the donation, in the ballpark of what the one at the jag went for (I don't know but can find out). I have emailed with the winner of that image and she is happy to have other donors get a copy of this image and I am happy to provide such since it is all proceeds go directly into the Caleb fund. You can email me at dmccoy23@hotmail.com if you are interested in following up to get a larger image.

Thanks,
dennis
