On the fourth of July, 2007 Caleb Potter was involved in a skateboarding accident.
He suffered serious injuries and continues to need all of our positive thoughts and prayers.
This blog is to serve as a space for updates on Caleb's journey of recovery.

Happy Valentines Day!

OK you stiletto tall-thinking people- youv'e done it again! We are back home in one piece with good news. From the looks of the latest CAT..all the air pockets in Caleb's brain have re-absorbed naturally and his ventricles show no more enlagement than before - so we are back over the bridge, safely snuggled in for naps, close to ocean waters and salty air mixed in with my double-day stored up sigh of relief.
Now for the best part- I walked in to find a hugh bouquet of flowers - all white as Sheils knows I like em..with a hand written Valentine from Caleb. " Mom...from your boys who love you alot...so thanks! Love ..the boys".
And thank you.........
Leaving Boston is always a mixed bag of feelings for me--always so happy to be coming back to Fleet and yet finding it difficult to say good-bye once again to our fabulous nuggets of nurses who we have come to love and adore. We stopped by Ellison 12 and Spaulding for hugs, kisses and well wishes and we expect to see a good number of them on the Cape this summer. Watch out Cape Cod beaches!!!!

Again - sending you white flowers of thanks and thoughts...
As white as the flowers which adorn the table...as pure as my gratitude is to all of you!
The Happiest of Valentines days to you....mumsie

Sharyn,

Truly great news! What a nice surprise to come home to. Your heart must be pounding...

Speaking of hearts...Cupid doesn't have enough arrows to shoot in your direction! The economic recession news could be all ended if Cupid started making all the arrows he would need for you!

My mama too was greeted after a long day to a gorgeous white orchid from my brother, Cape Cod boys must know white is a wonderful color for a wonderful mama..!

I am overjoyed to know Caleb is doing so well, healing, & coming back into his true self. All is good, & we all are blessed.

Sharyn -
I had a Valentine's hot chocolate date with my toddler son today. As we sat and chatted, I realized there's nothing like the love a mom has for her son. I snuggled with him thinking, Please don't ever grow up. Please always want to climb on my lap and kiss my cheek. Please look at me with those brilliant, clear eyes and let me see the love inside them. I love to hear you talk of your boys. And knowing that they are all grown and sending you flowers on Valentine's Day makes me a little less melancholy about my own boy growing up to be a man someday.

Happy thoughts for all of you every day ...

Couldn't be Happier my Dear Friend! You have a remarkable young man there, along with two additonal remarkable siblings...how great is that?! And with friends like Kevin, whose words always, well generally, split my sides with giggles, and all of us, of course....you HAVE IT MADE!

Enjoy life, time together, look to the future, whatever it holds, and breath deep.....savor the moment, because you know that we are with you, and the road always rises up to meet you...

May todays Holiday become a symbol for what you expect everyday of your life.....love to its fullest, in the most unexpected places...and in everything you see and experience.

Great Peace this night, to you all,

Que duermen con los angelitos,

Melinda y MariElena

Sharyn,
I have been reading, but not had a few moments to put my thoughts or feelings together....The last several posts have been in many ways much more personally intimate than most of the past blogg. The past, when we all waited, watched and prayed for your beautiful sons recovery.
Now as Caleb settles back in to his home and life, you share more of you.
I have to say I have been deeply touched by the recent posts.....
in different yet profound ways.

I am so glad Calebs progress is moving right along.....and grateful to you fine lady....for sharing yours with us.
Happy Saint Valentines Day!

Hubby and I watched Under the Tuscan Sun last night and a character from the movie reminded me of you. Katherine...the former model and movie actress. She was so full of life, loved her hats and her ice cream. She was uninhibited, full of positive light and love. This is how I imagine you to be. Happy Valentine's Day, enjoy.
