On the fourth of July, 2007 Caleb Potter was involved in a skateboarding accident.
He suffered serious injuries and continues to need all of our positive thoughts and prayers.
This blog is to serve as a space for updates on Caleb's journey of recovery.

The dishwasher purrs, the rain subsides, the Oriole's opera belts from atop the crescent slice of orange nailed to the apple tree, Caleb is perched atop many billowing pillows eating homemade muffins slathered in butter and strawberry jam..... Max has just stumbled out of bed - off to his new job, and Kai will call precisely at 8.

There is something bigger than me! Than all of us!

Hi Sharyn,

Haven't posted lately, but couldn't let this Mother's Day weekend pass without acknowledgment
of your love, support and awesome spirit !!! The boys are truly blessed to have you as thier Mom..

So, sometime this Sunday, close your eyes, toss back that weary head, and shout "Damn I'm good", cause you are !!!

Fondly,

Ace

Amen, and that "something" is with us all CONSTANTLY. If only we take the time to look and listen! I believe in that "something" with my heart and sole. Happy Mother's Day Sharyn and all you other Mom's out there!

Thank you for the beautiful word pictures of flowers in messy houses, determined chicks, orioles, Caleb and fresh muffins with butter and jam. A great way to begin the day.

I read a quote recently that said:
'The difference between misery and happiness depends on what we do with our attention'

Seems like your attention, and Caleb's, Kai's, and Max's are all facing in a good direction. Bravo!
Spring helps and the love of friends and family...ever enduring.

May Mother's Day be sweet, fun, and deeply felt this year for you!

Love ya,
Suzibee

There is nothing like a post that leaves orange slices, apple trees, bird songs, and homemade jam running through your mind.

OH Sharyn, I believe that you are so right! My sense is that in order to have the sense of the greater, you must be aware of the smaller, less significant almost mundane, and that through that awareness comes a glimsp, glimmer of what we are truly a part of....Thank God for rain, an oriole's song, a crescent slice of orange, an apple tree, billowing pillows, homemade muffins slathered in butter and strawberry jam, Caleb, Kai and Max..and the list goes on.....

Today I am grateful for you, and the tendor loving care you have and are giving your very precious family. It was so special finally being able to meet you, and put my arms around you, and give you a sqeeze. I have done that so many times in my mind, over these many months, and have prayed that you feel the support and hope coming from so many people, friends and family.

This Mother's Day, which is different than any other Mother's Day for you, be aware of all that you have, all that you have been given, and all that is yet to come.
you are a remarkable woman, friend, mother, daughter, sister and you are LOVED! Thank you for touching my life, and that of my daughters'. She says to tell you that anytime you want to go frog catching just to give her a call...she'll come a running. My daughters your daughter...just let her know!

Be well, and take good care,

Con todo Carino,

Melinda

Nicole, thanks for the link to the article in the CCTimes. What a touching and beautifully written story. For those of us who never knew Jan and who were not able to be at the memorial service, it really brought both to life.

Sharyn, thanks as always for your inspiration.

Happy Mothers Day to all!

Its a sunny cool day in the Berkshires and all that rain has made things start to burst (unfortunately including the lawn).

Sharyn, thanks for the comment. As you know that roller coaster goes up and down then up again.
