On the fourth of July, 2007 Caleb Potter was involved in a skateboarding accident.
He suffered serious injuries and continues to need all of our positive thoughts and prayers.
This blog is to serve as a space for updates on Caleb's journey of recovery.

Goin again

We are indeed home in Wellfleet..all of us. Kai is home from school till the end of Jan. and is a continued source of strength and encouragement to Caleb. Max is committed to a physical work-out with Caleb every day, Jennie spends and hour with speech, Carol does my laundry and errands, Anne is on board to give me a break 3 times a week so I can go back to the Health club and work off all the hospital food, and Caleb is almost back to where we left off prior to this past hospitalization in terms of health and abilities. We are once again doing outpatient therapy in Orlenas and are very happy with the absolute positive vibes and energy that pours out of that place. We wish to thank all of you again for following along with us and sending your heartfelt wishes for Caleb during his recovery.
We also want to wish Peg continued good health and let her know that the Lindsay/Potter clan is behind her all the way. Love to all of you - Mumsie

Good to hear from you Sharyn. Glad things are working well for all of you! Almost back to where he was before the crisis is a good sign.
What wonderful friends and family you have surrounding you and helping you out.
Have fun at the gym, it is such a good stress reliever.

Oh, and Sharyn, you think the hospital food packed on the lbs...I'll be eating my way through the country, so see ya at the gym...

Hello Caleb, Carol, Max, Jennie and all the marvelous people who are daily and hourly working so hard to get Caleb back to tip-top shape.
You do not know us...yet. be have been part of the thoughts and prayers of so many supportive people.
I (Mollie) am the Warden of the Chapel of St. James the Fisherman. Our wonderful Jack Smith, has kept us and the Chapel aprised of the progress.
Chamber of Commerce May - October, and as you know we at the Chamber are looking forward to a good recovery for our favorite pirate. It WILL come!!!
Just before Christmas we was found something for Caleb. When I asked Jack for your mailing address I found out that, darn it, Caleb was back in the hospital. We still have it and are planning on sending it along with some other thins we hope all of you can enjoy.
I (Mollie) sing "around town": the Wellfleet Cardinals Night in Orleans, the Bakersfield Tent site and the Julie Harris Theatre.
I made a CD last March which I will send along, too.
I am sure it's not "your kind-a music", Caleb. But some of the songs might have some meaning, perhaps one especially, Thank you, Lord.
All our best,
Mollie Steele and Martha Wilson

BACK ON TRACK, SHARYN!!! And it's all good, especially the health club. It's a great way to release stress and get in shape at the same time. I'm dreaming about going back to the health club or ANY other kind of physical activity once I graduate in May. I can just hear the fat molecules bubbling as I sit hour after hour studying and writing and studying some more. YUCK. As for Caleb, my goodness, y'all are keeping him busy. Hang tough Caleb! You're fabulous and adorable and so very loved.

That's great news Sharyn, thank you for sharing the update. We're very glad that you all are back home and that you've got the whole family (and extended family) all behind Caleb. I'm sure that things will start moving quickly again, just as they did when you were home before- go Caleb!

Yahooooooo! You all ROCK!

This is awesome! So happy for all of you!

Godspeed to all!

So glad to hear you are all back in Wellfleet, the most healing environment I can imagine. Sharyn, do take time for yourself. Like they say on airplanes, you can't take care of others if you don't take care of yourself.

Hope the healing for all is going well (you, too, Peg).

it is so good to hear that caleb is home again (sharyn, you know how the hospital makes my stomach turn). he is blessed to have such a wonderful family and support system behind him, with him every step of his journey.

i know my words don't do my mother's justice but she is in the city of sin, dancing on stripper poles and getting married in a drive-through-chapel. no, i joke. but we (liam, mom, myself, and my little ones) send you all of our good thoughts daily. literally, every morning as i wear my 'pray for caleb' t-shirt to the gym to work off my stress, much like you, sharyn.

keep strong.
constantly sending you and yours all of me.

love.
hannah in portsmouth.

p.s. my mother, while in the middle of pulling a slot machine, informed me that 'little ones' sounds like i have a gaggle of children following me around when in fact its just two small dogs and a cat. they're always wishing you the best and they would totally share their treats with caleb. and maybe spudly.

It's so wonderful to know that Caleb is home again, healing in Wellfleet. Boston hospitals are the best in the country, but they've still got nothing on home care.

Near the end of last term, I got very sick, and had to come home early. I won't be going back to school for a while, but it's amazing how fast I got better once I came back home to Wellfleet. I think the air is magical here.

I hope to see you all walking down the street in town sometime--Caleb and Spudly proudly in the lead, of course.

Good luck & love!

love,
Mia

I am SO glad that you're all home and continuing the healing process together. I'm feeling the gym thing, Sharyn - my New Years promise to myself was about finding some balance in my life - healthy food and exercise seem to be the beginning of that path. I AM in Las Vegas, and while Hannah makes it sound as if I'm carousing and cavorting I'm actually working pretty hard. No stripper poles or wedding drive-thrus or even slot machines for this girl. I have, however discovered that the notion I've held for 50 years about Vegas being a hedonistic wasteland, while true on the face of it, is also just the tip of the iceberg. Vegas is like that girl in middle school who was the first to wear blue eye shadow and the shortest mini skirt, who snapped her gum and teased her hair - you know you shouldn't like her...your Mother wouldn't like her, but you just can't help yourself. Vegas is that kind of a girl! The people here are exceptionally friendly, the neon is surprisingly beautiful and it even smells good! I love it that the world still surprises me after all this time.
Please know that - though the candles are on the mantel back in Portsmouth - you are all still in my heart, firmly lodged, and I'm thinking nothing but good thoughts for Caleb and Peg...fingers crossed for Friday.

Big Love to you all (and a good dose of lady luck - it's in the air here!)

AAAAAAhhhhh,Peg, what joyful news! Your relief, as is ours, is palpable. You must be walking on clouds right now.

I just checked in to see how Caleb and gang were doing, hoping that the settling in routine was going positively........the inevitable catching up of the emotions is hopefully balanced by the being at home part. I feel that strength and prayer are needed now just as much as before, Sharyn, as you regroup for the task ahead. I wish we could help you more with the physical day to day stuff. But we will be sending you our love and positive energy as always. Please let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do from cyberspace......(although the South Shore is in easy driving distance so the offer of help is REAL). Our candles remain lit...

Your strength, courage, perserverance and love for each other is more than touching...-It is the true "human element" that is the heart and soul of all that is good in this lifetime. Dear Sharyn, Caleb, Kai, Max, Papa Jan, and of course, SPUDLEY the pooch....Couldn't be happier to know that you are back where you are suppose to be, and doing well. There is something quite speical about HOME, and all that comes with it! Enjoy your time with Kai...by the way Kai, I work in Noho, if you ever want to get together with a "mom away from home type" and have lunch let me know....you ma has my email..so many good choices of place to chow down! My 21 yr old son lives and works in town, if it's a Friday, he could join us. Think about it!

To Caleb, keep up the good work, you remain in thought. Every time I see a pirate "anything" I think of you. I bet it feels good to be home, and around friends and family..the BEST!

Sharyn, hope you're getting some much needed R & R, and that Mr. Kevin is treating you "respectfully" at his establishment...I'm sure he is...what a wonderful and supportive friend!!! And to Kai and Max, enjoy your time with you brosky. He appears to derive such strength from you both....have fun, laugh, carry on and have gratitude in your hearts for all the healing that has taken place, and all future healing.

Papa Jan, I feel this quiet strength from you that is passed on to Caleb, your boys, and "yes" to Sharyn. You must feel tremendous joy at Caleb being back in Fleet...Stay strong. Though not often mentioned, we feel your presence. PLease know you are in our thoughts and prayers also.

Jennie, hope all is well with you and wishing you a bright and beeautiful New Year, full of promise, joy, health and peace.

Dearest Peg, How very happy and full of gratitude I am for the healing that is taking place for you. This community has seen evidence of the power and energy of thought and prayer. What a Blessing it has been to be part of this amazing community of support and love. Blessings to you and yours in this New Year....

TO all in this Cyber community, Blessings, Health, Prosperity and Peace that passes all understanding in this New Year!

In Love and Light,
