On the fourth of July, 2007 Caleb Potter was involved in a skateboarding accident.
He suffered serious injuries and continues to need all of our positive thoughts and prayers.
This blog is to serve as a space for updates on Caleb's journey of recovery.

Caleb is simply amazing. And so are all of you! Someone shared this quote with me today that I must share with you:
"On Thanksgiving Day, we acknowledge our dependence."
[William Jennings Bryan].

The bond we share with family and friends is the greatest joy of all.

Sharyn,

I started kissing all the new faces of customers here in Wellfleet for the Thanksgiving rush and now I’ve got a ton of unpaid for bottles of wine all over the counter from people who ran out of the store! Thanks! I’m never listening to you again!

Go Caleb! Great News!

Happy Thanksgiving

I like the candle idea that someone proposed on yesterday's blog and so throughout the holiday season I will keep a special candle burning for Caleb and the rest of the Von Lindsay/Von Potter clan (including Spudly). And tomorrow among the things I will give thanks for are the amazingly wonderful lessons and realizations I've had from all of you, and most especially the strength and grace of Caleb and Sharyn. I will think of this boy we've never met named Caleb tomorrow and be thankful that he is the son of such an incredible Mom and has made it through such a tough and long road.
Sharyn, you made 3 sons who are just as wise and as strong as you are.
I know you will look around and be Thankful tomorrow as you eat your hospital turkey dinner, surrounded by your amazing family - you wouldn't have it any other way!!

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all, I love your spirit. You are truly inspirational to others who are in the same boat. I am a visitor from Support for Courtney Land and have been following Caleb's blog for some time now. It is a treat to become part of the caring and loving virtual family network. Today's Thanksgiving meal is a sweet and tender one for us as we have a family member with cancer and she needs all our strength and prayers Please include Arlene in your prayers.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
I am so happy and relived that Caleb is all right. Yesterday, while working and raking, he was all I could think about. He was on a loop in my mind, pick up that leaf, caleb, rake over there, caleb, the whole day went like this. To be back in the unknown was very troublesome. I am super happy that all went well and cannot wait to see you all home again. I love all of you potters and lindsays so much. I will cheers to you all today and dream of the day you are all back in the fleet.
I love you so much Mumsie, Caleb, Kai, Max and Juan. Take care and hopefully you will be home SOON.

this was sent to me this morning by my dear friend miles andrew kramer... he was manager of golden ratio woodworks massage tables, producers of fine massage & salon tables....when i approached him for a job (in montana) they did not have any positions available so he created one for me...we ended up traveling all over the country to AMTA shows selling tables. he has remained a dear friend over the miles & years & is one of the folks i was assured would keep CALEB in his prayers EVERY day from day ONE!!!

"HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2007

At the heart of the word Gratitude is attitude. If we truly have our head and heart
in the right place we have a positive attitude, which make us grateful and through
gratitude many blessings flow. You know what they say “your attitude determines your
altitude.”

It is my fond hope for all those connected to me in a myriad of ways, that as you
sit down to share the traditions of Thanksgiving with friends and loved ones, you
all will be gifted with a special blessing. May all be blessed with a spark of
divine energy that ignites in each individual heart an expansion of love for our
fellow man as we realize the manifest gifts in our life.

I am continually amazed, when I pause to look, that I am so blessed and receive so
many gifts from so many in so many ways. To each of you I say THANK YOU, I AM
GRATEFUL for the way you have enriched my life.

May you enjoy the gift of gratitude this Thanksgiving and may all be embraced by the
light of God’s love.

Enjoy the day!!"

Dear Sharyn,
so happy to hear all is well!!!
happy, happy, happy day of THANKS... GIVING... LOVE... PEACE... STRENGTH... & KISSES TO EVERYONE.

a note to Kevin S.
if you had offered a free bottle of wine to all the new faces before you puckered up i'm sure the outcome would have been a little different.
guess you'll just have to take a loss, box up all that extra inventory and bring it to Sharyn's house for the REAL thanksgiving celebration when the "tribe" is back home in Fleet.

Just wanted to let you know we're thinking about you and Caleb and Kai and Max up here. We miss you all so much! Donna and Fran came up to visit for Thanksgiving! I've been lurking since August and I apologize for not acknowledging sooner how moved I am by Caleb and the love he's generated. I learned of Caleb in August when I was in Wellfleet and have been following his recovery ever since through this blog. To say that your courage and devotion is an inspiration seems so inadequate and yet those words are the best I can come up with to communicate my immense gratitude for sharing your journey with the world. Thank you with love, Joan Oliver (Glenmont, NY)

I have been a "lurker" and have been following your story for quite some time and sending prayers and good thoughts along your journey. I am a single mother of two teenage boys and one thing you said really struck me - ... I, on the other hand will get to exercise my right as a mother to love unconditionally while realizing that I do not get to choose for him what his life will be. I will learn and re-learn the art of letting go. ... thank you.
I have really been struggling with this and have been focusing on the pleasure of having my boys healthy and whole yet still struggling with their indipendance - this really struck home with me...

Hello Potter/Lindsay's and all!

This is Haley.. I send greetings from North of the border! I am so glad to hear that Caleb is doing well again. I still check the blog often at my office job in Canada (Shhh, I'm working I swear!!). I still wear the bracelet and am eager to share Caleb's story when people ask. I am thankful to have such an inspirational family (not to mention the greater community) in my thoughts. It reminds me that not everyone lives a self contained life in surburban sprawl. Though I am far from Wellfleet, Your spirits sing strong in my heart. Best of luck to everyone. Love you Leb.

Bless you all. Love you all. Haley
