"Be like the bird who, pausing in her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing she has wings."
That passage has helped me so very much while I tred on boughs too slight. Thank you.
I ran yet another successful fundraiser, this time for Mass Appeal (a free clothing shop in town, run by extraordinary women) You can read all about it on Sandy Grabbe's chezsven blog. Scroll down to Sat. May 7th.
I think a pattern is emerging...I soak myself with projects just to keep my mind free and occupied from my reality, and then when it is over I am faced with what it is I do not wish to see. I don't know how other care givers do it. It is an exhausting job, full of pitfalls and pain. Yet still in a days time Caleb will drop a quip that stops me in my tracks and causes pause of a good kind. Almost stops my heart to tell it truthfully.
Now I am heading up the Farmer's market to be pulled together by June, but this is something Caleb will be involved in...and the farming thing is deep in my blood..so there is a comfort to it.
I look forward to the day when I can say that I sing knowing I have wings. Not there yet- but looking forward to it.

You are doing fine, one foot in front of the other, keep going....
Love to you Sharyn.

We will be in Wellfleet in July. Is there somewhere we can view Caleb's paintings?
Sharon,
Remember that you have wings. Wings can give way a bit during hard times, but their whole point is that they can lift you back up again. You (not "you" in a non-personal poetic sense, but you, Sharon, in all your personal strength and beauty) have the mental means by which to pull yourself back up from any situation. Just knowing that you have those means is all it takes. You will never lose your wings. Worrying about the actual lifting back up--that's where the work comes in. Good luck, and keep doing just what you are doing.
I thought of you guys early today...and so glad I checked in. The Spud/Christmas entries opened my heart wide. Warm spring blessings to all, and congratulations on the art opening!!
Holy Crap Batman.....I just restored my calendar to an earlier non-corrupt version and up popped a reminder for Caleb's birthday for last week.
Sorry I missed it, but sending good wishes to you now!!
Jeff
Thanks for the mention, Sharyn. The Farmer's Market was great. I wrote that up, too. Caleb is always surprising me with his wit. Every time I run into him in town. Hope you will blog more often this summer, if you have the time. Get everyone to sign the petition at change.org against NStar. We have not won yet. The struggle continues to save Cape Cod water ...
Hi Sharyn...I have not stopped in for a while and thought I would say hello. I see it's been sometime since your last post...I hope this finds you and boys well. My husband wears his Pray for Caleb shirt often and we still send you love and peace from far away. You inspire me in so many ways and I want to thank you for that:) Keep flying!!!
Much love,

Dearest Sharyn....Thought of you all this morning as I prepare to head for my favorite down east destination..Mari is there bartending...yes!, she's all grown up, graduated from high school, and taking a "gap" year to do other things...My sincere desire is that life continues to shower you, Caleb, Max and Kai with infinite possibilities, and that each day presents you with a "gift" of being able to see life in a "new" way. You have all worked so hard, it's about time that you experience the "fruits of your labor"...
Think of you all often, and smile..YOU are a marvel, and Caleb a gift to treasure~
Holding Intention for life to be full of unexpected pleasure, glowing health, magical moments with friends and family, outrageous joy, and lasting Peace..
Con todo carino,
Melinda
