On the fourth of July, 2007 Caleb Potter was involved in a skateboarding accident.
He suffered serious injuries and continues to need all of our positive thoughts and prayers.
This blog is to serve as a space for updates on Caleb's journey of recovery.

Reminders & Degrees

Hi everyone, Lisa B here for you all today.
Yesterday I was so moved by a woman who wrote in that I immediately emailed her asking if I could use some of her blog for us all again today. I am awed by the overwhelming love that spills out of us when we dare enough to really let it! Thank you Susan, and I look forward to meeting you some day...

Susan in Portsmouth, NH said...
For Sharyn -
I have been spending parts of the summer on the cape all of my life - now nearly 50 years. About 7 or 8 years ago I was driving up route 6 with my kids - Hannah and Liam and we spied this fabulous looking group of people gardening outside a bank (I think) by the side of the road. There was this tall, blonde woman in overalls and 3 beautiful blonde boys who were all clearly related. We were smitten on the spot and commented about the loveliness of mom and boys and garden. On our way home from P-town later in the same day we stopped in Wellfleet for art and ice cream and again crossed paths with the beautiful gardeners. We have been referring to this group ever since as the "Wellfleet boys" - they have become for all of us a symbol of the way life can look and they come up in conversation whenever thoughts turn - for us more and more frequently - to the possibility of making the Cape our permanent home. I'm a single mom - have been for a while now - and this mystery woman surrounded by her boys has been a huge part of my consciousness for all these years - a living picture of loving and working beside your children. I follow a blog written by a woman who calls herself "blackbird." She and her family spend a week in Wellfleet every summer and this summer she happened to be there just after Caleb's accident. She referred to Caleb and posted a link in her blog to yours. I followed that link and as I read and scrolled back to the earlier posts all of the little hairs on my body began to stand on end. I realized that you are 'our' Wellfleet mother and Caleb, Max and Kai are 'our' Wellfleet boys and I felt, and continue to feel, an overwhelming connection to you. I've come to the conclusion of late that there really are only, at the very most, 2 degrees of separation between us all - not 6 - and I need you to know that even though we've never met - and most likely never will - you and your children have become an integral part of my little family and you are in our thoughts and in our hearts daily.
I'm certain that with time and the immense support you're receiving from friends, family and community your Caleb will return home to pick up where he left off and complete the circle of love and connectivity that's just waiting for him. Please know that you and yours have been a shining bright spot for me and mine for years.

Love to you all - Susan.

Hello everyone, Caleb continues to do well and is speaking more everyday - just short little phrases, but it is a start.
We walked to the river and watched the skateboarders yesterday who religiously arrive at dusk to practice their jumps at Secretaries park. Caleb was riveted. When I later tucked Caleb into bed, I realized that he was urgently attempting to tell me about his recollections of his accident. " I started to go crazy and couldn't stay on and the board hit me in the head". I think he feels the board hit him rather than him hitting the road...but the fact that he is remembering is telling - To face your fears is healing..and Caleb wants to go there.
For those curious about people on the blog - Shaye is Caleb's good friend who was driving the truck which Caleb latched onto just prior to his accident. Settie is married to Shaye's brother, Zack and is indeed the woman behind the incredible voice on Shaye and Kai's movie. Sky, as you know is my one of my adopted daughter's who is responsible for setting up this blog and Cedar is her brother, Caleb's best friend from day one. Kevin is one of my cherished friends who makes me laugh and he runs the local liquor store.( a good friend to have) Lisa introduced herself quite well and the rest I think you can figure out.
Life at Spaulding can be difficult to watch. Some of the poor critters up here with head injuries have turned into monsters - demanding, obnoxious, pushy and frightening in a way. This can be common with head injury. Caleb, on the other hand has just turned sweeter than ever. He will attempt a thank you when he is feeling sick , apologizes for vomiting, and is as kind as ever a person has been. It seems to have amplified all the good already in him. He has become the model of how I wish to be. I shall try to never complain again about the little annoyances, or procrastinate because I am tired, or concentrate on all the aches and pains.....I will close one eye and will try to see as clearly as he does.

Kai, Caleb and Max

Philippe, an old friend and former neighbor of Sharyn, Jan and the boys, just found this photo in an old album and sent it on to me. I thought you might like to see the boys in their younger years.
Thanks Philippe...

home away from home

Caleb was sitting up this a.m. - ready for his lumbar puncture. This will determine ( after 3 such procedures) whether or not Caleb will need a permanent draining shunt to be inserted into his brain with tube running to the belly. I was trying to prep him by practicing the word Pain to let me know if he needed help. He responded by saying Pain..... I said once again - what are you going to tell me if it hurts when the Doc punctures you -- He said " Mother f----r! I almost fell to the floor with laughter. Since the 4th I have been holding my breath wondering if the true essence of Caleb's personality was in there --Caleb is all about laughter and making people feel easy. He has a quick to light up, cat ate the canary sort of smile and coupled with lightning speed deliverance, he is quite the mumbo jumbo of lightheartedness and wit. I think I can say with confidence, that our Caleb still resides in there- in full glory.
Quick notes - I would like to ask the person who knows about the singing Doc to get in touch..I am opening up my e-mail address so that anyone out there with helpful ideas can write...please know that in spite of all this blogging, I am a recluse and adore my privacy - so be gentle! Sharyn_lindsay@yahoo.com. Please be brief.
The first of the "company" for Caleb arrived yesterday. Cedar; Caleb's best friend from day one and Ethan ( who now is dating Cedar's sister, Sky) - ( starting to sound more like Fleet, huh? ) who has been watching over Caleb's grant and is a "new" best friend. Caleb was shy and quiet around Cedar and I asked him ( when Cedar stepped out) if he was happy to see him - he shook his head no ! Initially I was surprised and then guessed that Cedar would be the one who most reminded Caleb of who he had been and of the contrast now. I am taking this as a good sign. If Caleb has a keen sense of who he was prior to the accident then I firmly believe he can get back there. It didn't take long for the comfort level to come seeping back. After about an hour they were hangin like the two year olds they once were, sitting together on my living room floor, poised on all fours, and ready for trouble.
Caleb is coming along: smiles a bit more each day , completes words and pronounces more clearly. He is now able to tell me when he has to use the bathroom and 4 out of 5 times - we make it! He dresses himself and washes and shaves. He is depressed, and rightfully so, but grins when I tell him that he will be back in Fleet soon with his brothers and dad and millions of friends and supporters. He is more and more, himself.
When first in the city, I thought I would find it cold and distant and lonely. I felt I would be lost in a sea of passing faces and that I would be mining my memory for faces of home - those people who smile and greet you. This is what I unearthed... The couple at the liquor store who always smile at me and speak as if we have known each other for years, the manager at the restaurant where I go late night for an appetizer and a glass of Riesling who sneaks me a second glass and joins me for conversation, and the sweet chef where I go for comfort take-out who, while I wait
( and he is trying to close down for the night) hands me a warm oatmeal cookie on an even warmer plate. I will be bringing them all home with me. Love, mumsie

Tube top

Hello out there - please first I want to say thanks to all of you who walk me through the walk to make me smile again...Kevin, laughter is the best medicine and it is what you and have in common, plus our cup size.
Caleb's G tube on the top of his stomach comes out this morn which is why I am here so early. This makes him for the first time since the 4th of July - totally tube-less!!!!!! With Jen's update you are able to see how well he is coming along. He still gets confused and irrational at times, has great difficulty with speech, but as we speak, he is sitting in his chair, reading the morning paper, and waiting for the Doc..
We are comfortable here and love all of our nurses - and I feel our Doc is top notch so don't worry about us.
Caleb is bored with his routine and has his schedule down, so now and I am opening up parts of the week for visiting. You will need to call me first. As you know his popularity
could really be a problem with all of you rushing up - so get in contact with Kai, get my cell and get on a list!
I have a new zebra bad ass handbag, Lisse and co-workers sent me the best care package a girl could want ( you guess), Caleb is looking and acting sharp and life at Spaulding is only getting better. Gotta run - things to do! Love, Mumsie

Girlfriend update!!

funny faces!!!!

I was up in Boston this past Monday and Tuesday and had a great time. I look forward to seeing Caleb from the moment I leave on tuesday till the next Monday. It was our 3 year- 4 month anniversary and I was soo excited to be able to be with Caleb on our special day. Caleb is gaining weight and eating really well. For lunch today, he had roast beef, carrots salad and soup. He really loves to eat, and when he is finished with his meal, he looks at all of our plates for more. And if you know Caleb or any of the Potter boys, they will eat all your food off your plate if you don't want it. ..in seconds. Caleb feeds himself with a spoon and fork and tries to mix everything, because that is what he has seen us doing when we feed him..( that was when he was eating all pureed food). On Tuesday, he started mixing his dessert custard in with his salad, but then he quciky realized what we was doing and stopped. When I visit Caleb, we cant get enough of each other, we cant stop kissing, we hold hands all the time and snuggle and nap everytime I go up there. We flew paper airplanes around his bed, and he smiled so big. Yes, our Caleb is smiling and it is so beautiful. Next time I am up there, I will take a pictures of it, because it will bring tears to your eyes.
On tuesday, he was put into this crazy aparatus, which teaches him how to walk again, but it does the work for him. It holds up his weight with a harness around his waist, and these robot legs go over his legs. They move by a computer and simulate walking. It is the coolest thing to watch, and they put a mirror infront of him, so that he can watch himself. This machine will teach Caleb what it feels to walk and build up muscle without him even trying. Caleb is building up strength and I see it most when he is getting in his wheelchair. Even last week, Caleb would be dead weight in the nurses arms and he would have to be lifted into his chair, but that has changed. Now he stands with help and moves his legs around really well to get into the chair and puts his hands back and sits with help.
I wanted to make this short and sweet but I feel like there is so much I can write. Caleb is also tries to talk alot. He mostly lips words because he is still learning how to breath while he speaks. Be when I am with him whispers sweet things in my ears. I love it. I miss his voice soo much, and It sounds exactly the same. Okay, I am going to sign off on this note....When I was leaving, Caleb wanted to come in the hall to come say bye to me and we kissed goodbye and he whispered something to me. He said....."Thanks for helping me." I love this kid!!!!

Is humor good medicine?

Hello to everyone in cyberspace here! Thanks for visiting! I think I will basically address this to all the wonderful visitors who don’t know Caleb and his family or even have ever been to Wellfleet before. I know there are a lot of you like that out there. You Fleetians and other great friends can just hum along to the lyrics with me here... I’m Kevin Scalley and I have managed the Liquor Store in Wellfleet Center since 1975. I have known the Lindsay/Potter family since I first moved to Wellfleet in 1975. I’ve had the great pleasure of watching Caleb, Kai and Max since their toddler days to today. As a father of two boys 16 and 19 I totally love watching all the kids growing up and I have a great time teasing all the kids I see.

“Is humor good medicine?” I ask in my post title. Well, I will let everyone here be the judge of that. About 5 or 6 years ago I was given a life size stand up cardboard cut out image of Elvira by the Bartles and James Wine Company for display purposes at the Liquor Store. Well, we all know how curvy Elvira is and I decided with a digital picture of Sharyn I had I would print a life size picture of her face and place it over Elvira’s to have everyone think it was Sharyn! I faced it pointing out the window of the Liquor Store to Main St. so everyone could see it. It was an absolute riot to watch people go by and you could read their lips saying “Isn’t that Sharyn?” I don’t know whose grin was bigger coming into the Liquor Store! Caleb, Kai or Max’s, let alone Sharyn! Did Sharyn ever say “Oh! Kevin I’m so embarrassed by this... Well, nooooooooo way! The Elvira cutout with Sharyn’s face stayed in the Liquor Store window a good year or so and finally it became faded from the sun and had to go to the dump. A proper burial ceremony was performed there. The good news is the real Sharyn hasn’t faded a bit!

Ok, here’s another one. Last spring Caleb and Sharyn had their picture in the paper while doing their landscaping work. Kai was MIA that day and was mad he didn’t make it into the newspaper picture. I cut the picture out of the newspaper and placed it in a counter mat the Lottery gave me that has a protective see through cover to display newsie type items. Now the fun begins, on a nightly basis when I’m not working numerous Lindsay/Potter family members come in and add mustaches, tattoos and insert a picture of the MIA Kai along with other art work. Just about every morning when I opened the Liquor Store a new addition of artwork would appear! I inserted a photo of their art work they had done on the newspaper photo below. Not to be out done Jodi a friend of Sharyn, myself and many others puts a picture from a newspaper of herself that was taken while she was teaching at school. Three Ring Circus you say? There are many very talented artists that live in Wellfleet and also that come for the summer. The Lindsay/Potter family will not put their professions at risk! I told the Potter boys I was going to ban the Lindsay/ Potter’s from the Liquor Store if their shenanigans kept up! Did they listen? Thank God No!

I presently in the counter mat at the Liquor Store have a newspaper article on Caleb that had appeared this summer after the accident for all who may have missed it. The Lindsay/Potter’s unquestionably make Wellfleet the special place that it is. I’m so glad I know them all!

One more thing, a lot of the guest bloggers have put a picture of themselves on their posts. I decided to include a recent picture of my self below here after a visit to my Liquor Store by one of the Lindsay/Potter clan!

Low day

Remarkable, as usual Kai. Thank you . Now I am working on the Max blog.
A low, boggy kinda day for me today..guess I am entitled to a few. I feel I echo each rise and fall of Caleb. He has a good day - I have a good day. He has a bad day - I have a bad day. The boys had a favorite saying when they were young.. "When moms happy - we're happy" ..now that chant has become - when Caleb is happy......
Today, when he is vomiting, I am sick to my stomach, when he is slow and confused , I am an uneasy slug. This is a minute to minute kind of experience... just like on the 4th of July - one minute Caleb is by my side telling me all about the parade - he is vibrant -- and the next minute, following a phone call, Kai is driving sixty down Long Pond Rd. and our lives have changed forever.
Knowing what you now know about us - we will get through this and we will do what is necessary to get Caleb home and back to complete health. And you know my family is just stellar and we will hold each other up.. It's just that sometimes the magnitude of what has happened slips into my being and I want to cry out to the night and I want the sun to make it all go away.
Some days are low and forgive me for this is a low one for me. Caleb is still improving, but there are days when I can no longer muster up the energy to be happy that he said one word out loud, or that he took 3 more steps than yesterday. This is the kid who took twenty steps on his first attempt at walking.
It has been a long day and the evening is always more difficult- the dark settles in and shows no signs of leaving, and I must just remember that darkness is not proof of the absence of light.

Oysters, Community & Volunteers oh my!

Dear friends,
This blog is about Caleb...but it is also about the power of community. As you know, the Oysterfest is soon hitting the beautiful town of Wellfleet. The word on the street is that there is still a serious need for volunteers. If you're not already booked for the weekend of October 13th and 14th, check out http://www.wellfleetoysterfest.org/howtohelp.html
and consider signing up for a 2 or 4 hour shift. There are many ways that you could help out and...it's a blast! There are benefits for the 4-hour-volunteers: a meal ticket and a t-shirt.
Thanks everybody!

Updates Pictures!!!

I am so sorry that it took me so long to post these pictures. Before I take pictures of Caleb, I always asked him if it is okay and I actually think he enjoys these little photo shoots. He has always been a ham infront of a camera. After, he likes to flip through the pictures on my camera and check them out for himself. I will bring my camera up with me when I visit him, and update everyone with pictures when possible.

Snuggle Time!!!

Kisses on the cheek!!!

Caleb and Mumsie on the Charles River

Is he not the cutest thing ever!!!

Having lunch outside and trying to get Caleb to smile.

Mumsie (still beautiful as always) , and Caleb (giving the "jag" sign)

Big Brother, as told by younger brother.

Ill introduce myself as Calebs little brother, the middle son of the three, my name is Kai. I want to start by telling everyone that yesterday and today Caleb has shown us some amazing things. We were all outside and we asked him if he wanted to try walking, he said yes, and so we spent most of the rest of the day walking around, sitting on benches and sidewalks and having really good, clear communications. by nighttime, Caleb was pretty worn out but would not go to sleep. Mom and I sat with him trying to convince him to sleep and I found myself continually having to turn my head away, but not to hide tears as before, but to keep from laughing out loud and encouraging Caleb- he wouldnt stop doing things to make me laugh. Thats pretty much how its always been with us. Then, finally when we thought he was asleep, he grabbed a cold wet rag and threw it at my face, thats also how its pretty much always been. Caleb has always done this sort of thing to me. I remember when I was about eleven years old and mom, in one of her madly spontaneous acts, had decided to take us all on a cross country trip in a crusty, rotten old van that someone had given to her. This van was at the point where it should have been considred "yard art"; something thats sits there and grows wild flowers and weeds on and around it- not something you pack 4 kids into and set out on a four thousand mile journey and expect to make it home in. Anyway, we were in some far away nameless little town at a campground that our van had conviniently broken down next to and we we were all having a swim in the pool. Someone realized that this little girl had pooped in the pool so we all came running out and went to the showers to wash off. We were wrapped in towels and walking back to our campsite, and in true Caleb fashion, he reached over and ripped off my towel and took off running. I ran naked all the way back to our site, followed by the screeching laughter of about two hundred other campers. For the rest of our stay there, I was "that naked kid". So now, at the hospital, he is still doing things like this. About a month ago, a nurse handed him a magazine, he rolled it up and smacked me in the face with it. then, I was lying in his bed with him, looking at a mirror, and he extends that long pointy finger toward my reflection and then puts it to his neck and drags it across - ear to ear. this is right after he gave me the finger. Yesterday, I gave him the thumbs up, he grabbed my thumb and twisted it a little, making a snapping noise with his mouth and then giving a little smile. Then last night there was the whole wet rag to the face thing. Caleb is doing well, he is still giving me hell, beating on me, harassing me and being a constant symbol of abuse- just like a big brother is supposed to. But then, at the end of the night, when mom and I were finally getting him to sleep, I lay my head down on his chest and told him how much I love him. I felt the loving hand of a big brother reach up and rub my head softly, as if putting me to sleep, reassuring me that he is right there and that he will always look out for me, and make sure I am ok, and give me confidence and strength when I am weak or scared, or tell me where to go if Im ever lost- to be a constant symbol of strength - just as a big brother is supposed to.

Von Lindsay

Hello again - I love this guest bloggin thing... for those of you who want to understand just who Lisa is-and what she means to the community, take all the wonderful things said on the blog, times that , let's say by about 100 and maybe you get close to just how cool she is!

Handing Caleb a newly purchased chalk board proved interesting...When asked to write our
names, he wrote -- Caleb Von Potter, moms name is Sharyn Von Lindsay, Kai Von Potter, Max Von Potter. I actually like the Von and would ask that all of you address us as such in the future. Language is still in there, he is just having a difficult time transferring that to speech..
Leb has a great room mate who speaks Creole and who now calls me mum as well. Glad Lisa can speak Creole cause Caleb might come out of here speaking Creinglish.
Kai arrived last evening. From the time he was little till now, we are joined at the hip. He is by no means a mommas boy. He is independent, smart as a whip, accomplished and just about everything I ever wanted to be. We share spirituality and a similar outlook on life and I sometimes just forget that we are mother/son. We are completely honest with one another and can talk about anything. Mostly we talk about Caleb. We lay out our fears, our hopes, our tears, our laughter and my spirits are lifted just by being in his presence. Max will arrive today. He is the drop dead handsome, steady and quiet one. Great bass guitar player and beautify voice. We always say that Max doesn't say much - but like that perfume advertisement, when he whispers, people pay attention! I want to introduce you to yet another son- not legitimate nor illegitimate .. just another son named Tim. We call him Timalah. Tim has been by my side through all of this ordeal also - he walks our beloved dog, Spudly each night after he returns from a long day at work, feeds the cat and keeps Max company while I have to be away. He travels with us - eats all my holiday meals and loves the shirts I buy him for Christmas. Thank you Tim. I feel better knowing I have two sons at home!
Sharyn Von Lindsay is taking an hour off for a facial ( compliments of Suzie B. thank you) and then the entire Potter clan is joining me for an outing to the Science museum.
We are trying to keep life as normal as is possible in this situation . We tell stories, poke fun, laugh and hold each other up. Family is the sacred breath that we inhale each day and breathe out with a sigh of relief- Caleb is still with us and he will prevail. Love, mumsie

Big & Little Slices

Hi everyone, Lisa B here (that's me on the left with Dakota in the middle and Deirdre on the right) to give respite to Sharyn and to share with you a little slice of Wellfleet and a big slice of Caleb…well, here goes….
I’ve known the Potter/Lindsay Clan for as long as they have been in Wellfleet, and one of my first recollections of Caleb was when he was a skunk in the Halloween parade while he was so tiny. I remember he fit into Sharyn’s arms like this furry little puppet, and he smelled like a skunk by the end of the parade because he had pooped his pants!
I owned a restaurant once called the Flying Fish from 1990 to 2000, and in that time had almost every kid work with me in the Fleet bustin’ suds, or prep cooking, or on the line, and Caleb was no exception. And he was a prankster! We had the world’s smallest dishwasher working for us this one summer, and Caleb and Jonah (Shaye’s bro) convinced this kid to climb into the laundry bag and when the Acme laundry guy came to pick up the bags, he jumped back and screamed when the bag started to writhe and wiggle. Afterward, Caleb offered to buy him breakfast, and apologized for laughing so hard. That guy talked about that for years! On another note, when Jesse was working at the Fish, just 4 months before he died at 19 of cancer, Caleb was so tightly in that kid’s pocket, helping him just keep on keepin’ on. What a tough time that was, and how humbled I was to be just a little adult corner of the kid fabric that held these growing Fleetmates together.
I currently teach at Nauset Regional High School right next door in Eastham. It’s where I graduated from, and where Fleet kids go to school. I teach World Music, and the second year of class I had Mike D, Caleb, Bags (Caleb P), Sky And Casey S in my class…all Fleetsters. We started what is now the Nauset World Music Ensemble, and our first big concert was the first annual Clothesline Concert where a few hundred people showed up at the high school for this fundraiser.
Now, none of these kids were “professional”. in fact, most had never really performed in front of this many people (well, maybe Sky had). We were supposed to fill about 15 minutes of the evening, and because everything we did was original, needless to say we had about 10 minutes of stuff, even including the cool thing Sky danced to, which she stretched as much as she could. Caleb, Bags and Mike ASSURED me that they could fill the other 5 minutes, 2 minutes before we went on. Ever have one of those moments when your career flashes before your eyes? When you know that the kids think they got it all goin’ on, and you are afraid because they grew up in Fleet…and…well…maybe etiquette is a little…uh… different here than in the real world, that perhaps you really won’t see a job in your foreseeable future after what was about to unfold? GULP. Just trust them (I whispered ferverently to myself). Okay. We go on. I introduce. The Ensemble plays, Sky dances…and… the three boys start in on this clap thing, hitting their bodies, their heads, their thighs, beating their chests to this crazy beat & rhythmically pounding each other like a Stomp / Blue Man Group gone haywire! Then Caleb starts that jig..y’know... THE jig with arms and knees and elbows a’flappin’..?
OHMYGOD they brought the house down!
The moral of the story? If you want laughs, love, tenderness, compassion, and general hijinx, well..it’s definitely alive and well in Wellfleet. It is where we get to bump into each other and bump dysfunctionally into ourselves in a BIG way. And soon again we get to bump into Caleb too….I love you guys.
Lisa
p.s. At 5:30 today whoever wants to help move the circle 3 feet to the cannon, we will see you there!

Hornet nest

Geeeeez- look what happens when mum steps out -we got a hornet's nest stirred up! Judith is always full of mischief- we once had a water fight that started in my yard and quickly moved into the house (the water source) and ended with Judith pouring pitcher's full of water over my head! Never mind that the builder had just left at five with newly sanded floors and precautionary words... " whatever you do, keep water off the floor". Those few buckled boards are my favorites in the house.

Today I walked into Caleb's room - he was dressed in a new contraption which zips up the back and ties him into bed.. seems the boy decided he could get out of bed last night (Max and Kai called this one) and he ended up sitting on the floor till the nurse discovered him. When I asked him this morn if he was trying to get to the bathroom he shook his head no and said - "town hall"! Well now - do we think the prayer circles are working? He has moments of clarity like this and it is so reassuring.
Next week we are cleared for outdoor recreation - so the Lebster and I will be rowing on the Charles with the rest of the crew. I can visualize more water fights in our near future!
On the flip side ( seems there is always one) Caleb has been vomiting after each meal and that points to signs of Gallbladder stress..perhaps another trip to MGH for yet another surgery...we find out tomorrow. I just spoke to his doc who is an acupuncturist as well as a traditional practitioner and I gave him the OK to work his magic with Caleb to see if we can get his energy flowing in a less invasive, medical way.
There is a friend who lives down the road from us who is now confined to a wheel chair. She was always a very vibrant woman, but somehow she is more vibrant since her disease has caused her this immobility. She pauses to hear the birds, she loves her flowers and she has kind, encouraging words for all who pass through her door. When I am low, I think about her and try to focus on all the good. Caleb and I sat outside this morn and with our eyes closed, hands locked, imagining that we were once again on the beach of Costa, side by side, sun on our faces, birds in the trees, warm sand on our feet. Just together as we are now. As we returned we passes a wagon with 3 little boys and I said a mother's silent prayer.. God bless you and keep you safe.
I am so appreciative of the guest blogger spots which allowed me a bit of time to step away and concentrate on Caleb. It backfired in a way and I became seriously depressed. Perhaps too much time to think too many thoughts. This is a necessary step along this healing path and thank God for Kai and Max and my dear friend Donald who walked me through. At times you just want a giant bottle of white out to dab on the mistakes so you can start over with the way it was meant to be.
I am on the mend and Caleb is doing fine! Love, mumsie
